Beacon Theatre hosted the 2025 edition of Love Rocks NYC on Thursday (3/6). The annual benefit raises money for God’s Love We Deliver, to help them fulfill their mission of preparing and delivering nutritious meals to people with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other serious illnesses, and this year’s edition also supported Los Angeles’ Project Angel Food, in response to the wildfires.

This year’s edition featured performances from Cher (whose outfit for her performance of “Walking in Memphis,” in drag as Elvis, was inspired by her video for the song; she also did “(This Is) A Song for the Lonely” and “Believe”), Michael McDonald (who dedicated a rendition of “What a Fool Believes” to the late Roberta Flack), Mavis Staples (who had McDonald join her on “I’ll Take You There”), Jesse Malin (who paid tribute to the late David Johansen, covering The Rolling Stones’ “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)”), Phish‘s Trey Anastasio (who had Peter Frampton and Grace Bowers join him for a guitar solo-off to “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”), Bill Murray (who did Stephen Stills’ “Love the One You’re With”), Beck (who followed his 1994 hit “Loser” with a cover of Prince’s “1999”), Dave Stewart (who played classic Eurythmics tracks “Here Comes the Rain Again” and “Sweet Dreams”), Alicia Keys, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Kate Hudson, Luke Spiller, and more, as well as appearances from Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Guttenburg, Amy Schumer, and Alex Edelman.

To end the night, the whole gang came back out for a big group rendition of Stevie Wonders’ “Higher Ground.” See pictures from the night by Toby Tenenbaum below, along with a couple of attendee-taken video clips.
