Something unusual has been happening at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: all airline lounges have stopped accepting Priority Pass card‑holders (read more here), apparently to steer traffic toward the Thai‑owned Miracle and Coral lounges.

A reader wrote to us last week (read more here) saying Cathay Pacific had denied them entry, claiming the lounge no longer accepted passengers from Malaysia Airlines. We then heard similar reports from Finnair travelers, who were redirected to a nearby Miracle lounge.

You can view Cathay Pacific’s official lounge page here.

Another reader now reports that, as of 12 April, Malaysia Airlines passengers are once again being admitted to the Cathay Pacific lounge.

It is still unclear whether the same applies to travelers on other Oneworld airlines—Finnair, SriLankan, or Qatar Airways (note that QR’s own Premium Lounge admits only business‑class passengers).

Another reader even tagged us in their Instagram post to confirm the change.

Conclusion

What exactly is driving these (apparently forced) Priority Pass exits at Suvarnabhumi—and the push toward Coral and Miracle facilities—remains murky.

For now, Priority Pass members are barred from the Turkish Airlines, Oman Air, and Air France–KLM lounges and must use the local options, which many find inferior.

It’s good news that Cathay Pacific has readmitted Malaysia Airlines passengers. Let’s hope the same courtesy has been extended to all Oneworld partner flyers who want to use CX’s BKK lounge.
