Bob Dylan begins intimate tour in Tulsa (setlist, audio)
With a new drummer in tow, Bob Dylan performed almost all of ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ plus a handful of classics.
Bob Dylan has been even more in the air than usual lately (thanks Timothée Chalamet), and now the man himself began an intimate tour at Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Tulsa Theater last night (3/25). He played almost all of 2020’s excellent Rough and Rowdy Ways (minus the 17-minute “Murder Most Foul”) and a handful of classics, including “All Along the Watchtower,” “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue,” “Desolation Row,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” and more. According to Daily Dylan, he had new drummer Anton Fig in place of Jim Keltner.
As usual, filming isn’t allowed at Dylan shows, but a handful of audience members grabbed some audio and posted clips to YouTube, and it sounds to me like Dylan was in great form. Listen to some clips and see the full setlist below.
Dylan’s tour continues in Little Rock tonight (3/26), and after that he joins Willie Nelson‘s Outlaw Music Festival tour, including the NYC-area stops at Jones Beach on August 1 and NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on September 13. All dates are listed below.
Last night, the Spring Tour kicked off in Tulsa, OK. According to first reports, Bob & the band were in very fine form. There’s a new drummer: Anton Fig has replaced Jim Keltner.
