Some Barside Buzz around why Tom Holland is not in Doomsday and the Spider-Man 4 villain is Chameleon, plus more. The information comes from insider Jeff Sneider on his The Insneider website/newsletter.
Let’s start with Avengers: Doomsday.
Sneider says Tom Holland isn’t available for filming on Doomsday mostly due to filming for Spider-Man 4. Sneider has heard that the events of Spider-Man 4 will take place concurrently with Doomsday. So whilst we won’t see Spider-Man in the film, his own movie will show us why he was absent and lead directly into Secret Wars. It’s long been rumored Holland will be one of the leads in Secret Wars. However, he was also rumored to lead what was then called The Kang Dynasty, so who knows for sure?
Additionally, Sneider says scheduling is also the reason for Chris Pratt’s absence. The actor will be filming Season 2 of The Terminal List at the same time. Therefore, depending on how filming goes for that, Starlord may not appear until Secret Wars either.

Moving away from Doomsday, Sneider claims to know who the primary villain of Spider-Man 4 is…. The Chameleon. Yeah, not sure anyone expected that. Therefore, we’ll see how that progresses before declaring it a fact for now. Though, Sneider does have a good hit rate. I think I’m just burned by too many rejigs so far on this film that until we know who is cast, I won’t buy it.
Finally, Sneider believes John Wick director Chad Stahelski is likely who Marvel has hired to helm the Blade movie.
