New Naughty Dog Game ‘Leak’ Isn’t What Fans Were Hoping For

It’s been known for a while that lauded game developer Naughty Dog is working on another game besides the recently revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. A recent leak gives a bit more detail on what this project may potentially be, but it isn’t what fans may expect.

What is Naughty Dog’s other game in development?

According to known video game industry insider DanielRPK (as reported by The Game Post), Naughty Dog’s other project is directed by Shaun Escayg, who is most known for their work on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Marvel’s Avengers. Although fans may expect the company’s next project to be The Last of Us 3 considering its success as a multimedia franchise, the leaker claims it is not the next entry in the post-apocalyptic series. Whatever this new game is, it is said to be three years into development.

“Naughty Dog has a second project (not The Last of Us III), directed by Shaun Escayg (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Avengers), the Patreon post reads. “It’s been in development for three years now.”

On the video game forum ResetEra, gamers have begun speculating what this game could be. Despite the leaker’s claims, gamers are still hoping it’s a new The Last of Us. Others believe it will be another game in the dormant Uncharted series.

“If I prayed, it would be for TLOU3,” says one ResetEra user.

“I absolutely love Uncharted and hope a new one is on the way,” says another user. “I really appreciate the way they tie in real history to the lore. Awesome franchise.”

Like any leak or rumor that isn’t quite substantiated, take it with a grain of salt. We really won’t know what Naughty Dog is working on until it formally reveals it. Also, DanielRPK’s track record isn’t the best, so it may be best to just wait until the developer confirms what its next project is.
