Titanus Production is turning Dario Argento’s acclaimed 1985 supernatural thriller “Phenomena” into a TV series.
Back in 2022 came the news that Titanus was developing a contemporary film sequel to the original Argento movie with “a U.S. director and U.S. and international talents”.
Over time, that plan evolved into a long-form series which, rather than being a sequel, will instead offer a whole new take on the property.
Blending supernatural intrigue and high-stakes drama, the project hails from creators Nicola Guaglianone and Menotti.
The series follows the daughter of a movie star who arrives in the Dolomite Alps to attend an exclusive girl’s school where pupils are being targeted by a vicious killer. At the same time, she harbors a secret psychic link with insects.
The original starred Jennifer Connelly and was drastically recut before being released as “Creepers” in the United States.
