TVOD announce debut album, share “Uniform” video

NYC band TVOD have announced their debut album, Party Time, which will be out May 9 via Mothland. It was coproduced by Félix Belisle (Choses Sauvages) and Samuel Gemme at Montreal’s Gamma Recording Studio, and recorded mostly live.
“Party Time is our first full-length album,” TVOD write. “The songs span the band’s history, most being written in the past year, a collaborative effort from the whole band, while songs like ‘MUD’ and ‘Wells Fargo’ go back to the very beginning, when it was just Tyler. It’s definitely a party-themed album, with a lot of nods to our more light-hearted late nights, but it leans into the darkness of depression, isolation and addiction that partying can bring. Going through heartbreaks, using partying as a way to cope, whether it’s in a positive or a negative way, is up to interpretation. The album has a lot of chaotic feelings of melancholy, nostalgia, longing, pain, euphoria, and self-reflection. In short, it’s hangxiety-induced punk to dance or mosh to. Like taking a shot of tequila and doing cardio.
The band continue: “Félix and Sam co-produced our record. We were looking for somewhere to record our album and nothing was really speaking to us, until we heard La Sécurité’s debut, which they produced at Gamma Recording Studio in Montréal. Got a lot of cool textures from different vintage and modern synths Félix brought in, also adding a mini-grand piano for a song intro, as he got us to try things we normally wouldn’t try, whether it be melodically or dynamically. Sam helped a lot in the rhythm department, playing shakers, tambourines and other percussion, and generally made sure we were able to translate some of our more raw or unpredictable moments onto a recording. We recorded the album over several trips from Brooklyn to Montréal, and slept on the floor at Mothland’s office and at the apartment of Turbo Haüs.”
The album includes last year’s “Car Wreck,” and with the album announcement comes the banger of a new single “Uniform.” Watch the music video below.
