Travelex strengthens its footprint at Dubai International as passenger numbers reach new heights

UAE. Foreign exchange provider Travelex has opened four stores at Dubai International Airport, which experienced a record number of passengers in 2024. 

As reported, the Dubai gateway served 92.3 million travellers last year, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and marking a new high for international passenger traffic. 

The Travelex stores have been introduced to accommodate the growing number of visitors to the UAE. The outlets are located in Terminal 1 (baggage reclaim), Terminal 2 (landside departures and baggage reclaim) and Terminal 3 (airside departures).  

Passengers can exchange over 60 currencies on the day of travel or collect cash pre-ordered from the Travelex website. 

Travelex has been present at Dubai International Airport since 2009. With the addition of four new locations, the company now operates 35 stores at the airport and three at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport, employing over 540 staff.  

In 2023, Travelex expanded its presence in the UAE with 13 new stores, including six at Dubai International.
