Lucasfilm has announced “The Ninth Jedi,” a new long-form anime series based on a short from the “Star Wars: Visions” anthology series.
Fully titled “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” the series will expand upon Kenji Kamiyama’s 2021 short of the same name within the first ‘volume’ of the series.
A sequel to that short. titled “Child of Hope,” will release on October 29th this year as part of the third volume of “Star Wars: Visions”. The long-form series will then continue on from there with the adventures of Lah Kara.
In the original short, which was set after the events of “Rise of Skywalker,” Kara was a Force-sensitive human female and daughter of the legendary sabersmith Lah Zhima.
When Margrave Juro attempted to revive the long-gone Jedi Order, Kara had to deliver several of her father’s weapons when agents of the Sith came to take them. Upon reaching the Aerial Temple, a bunch of Jedi turn out to be Sith – leading to Kara, Juro and Ethan having to fight them.
