The Cure and Four Tet have joined forces on a limited edition ‘Alone’ remix vinyl for Record Store Day.

Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden) took over London’s EarTH this past weekend (March 7) and debuted his remix of Robert Smith and co’s 2024 comeback single from their three-time BRIT nominated 14th album ‘Songs Of A Lost World’.

Now, The Cure have taken to their official X/Twitter account to announce that they will be releasing the Four Tet remix of ‘Alone’ as part of this year’s Record Store Day event taking place on April 12.

According to the tweet, it will be pressed on “an exclusive one-sided black label 12″ vinyl” while “all Cure record royalties from the sale of ‘Alone (Four Tet Remix)’ 12′ release will benefit Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF). UK (Charity number: 1026588). At least £2 per record sold will be donated.”

The Cure will also be releasing a picture disc of their sixth studio album ‘Head On The Door’ for Record Store Day as well. You can check out other releases as part of the annual event here.

Back in 2022, one of Four Tet’s songs was featured on the ‘Eat Your Own Ears Recordings EP 1’ alongside Smith’s mix of Ride‘s ‘Vapour Trail’.

‘Songs Of A Lost World’ saw The Cure bag their first Number One album in the UK in 32 years, with NME awarding it five stars. “Merciless? Yes, but there’s always enough heart in the darkness and opulence in the sound to hold you and place these songs alongside The Cure’s finest,” it read.

“The frontman suggested that another two records may be arriving at some point, but ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ feels sufficient enough for the wait we’ve endured, just for being arguably the most personal album of Smith’s career. Mortality may loom, but there’s colour in the black and flowers on the grave.”

It was also included in NME’s list of Best Albums Of The Year, while lead single ‘Alone’ starred in NME’s Best Songs Of 2024. “‘Alone’ ended a 16-year drought and proved The Cure haven’t lost any of their magic. Through swirling synths and cinematic instrumentation, paired with Robert Smith’s poignant lyricism and melodies, this epic is a masterwork of ethereal beauty and raw emotional depth,” the latter read. “One of their most captivating songs to date.”
