About This Everyday Carry
Hacker wannabe in Japan
I usually work at a desk and commute between home and work, so I don’t take many things with me, but when I go out, I carry a combination of tools similar to this set. This time I’ve tried to get a set of tools made in Japan. Some explanations:
I didn’t really like the G-SHOCK, but this recently acquired Basel special version is nice, with a color that looks like brass. I carry a small memopad with me, but I think it’s better to have a larger notebook, about A5 size. MUCU is unusual in that it has a leather cover, and when you’re done using it, they replace the paper for you.
The Mechasea ballpoint pen has an interesting mechanism for ejecting the ink cartridge and a clip. It can use Fisher Space Pen ink refills.
In Japan, where I live, there are restrictions on taking large knives out of the house. So I don’t usually take the Higonokami knife out, but the Eigertool scissors come in handy, with eight functions.
These days, most flashlights are USB-C rechargeable, but I personally think that dry cell batteries are more reliable for lights. The Gentos flashlights are durable and won’t break even if you drop them.
We’d love to see more of your awesome submissions, which you can share using the handy form below!
