Bethesda has announced that over four million people have played its “Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” remaster just days after the game’s surprise launch earlier this week.

The publisher announced the engagement milestone on social media, saying: “We are so grateful to the over 4 million of you that have already ventured into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered. Thank you!”

The remaster, which features a total graphical revamp of the 2006 Game of the Year winner to a level that some consider it more a full-fledged remake, was simultaneously announced and released this past week on PC, PS5 and Xbox Game Pass.

On Steam, the game achieved a peak concurrent player number of over 205,000 on Saturday – the most concurrently played “Elder Scrolls” game to date.

That’s not the only game hitting a sales milestone. The recently-released PS5 version of “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” has become the fastest selling version on any platform – despite releasing months later.

Alinea Analytics published the stats which indicated the game has sold 117,000 copies on PS5 in its first six days, compared to the 91,200 copies sold on Steam in its first six days on that platform.

The analysts suggest the game would have sold even faster on PlayStation had it launched on the same day as the other versions back in December.

It’s estimated that just under 5 million Xbox players have played the game, with the overwhelming majority playing it on Game Pass rather than spending on the title.
