Stephen Colbert Accepts Award for Terrible Cybertruck Pun: ‘What’s This? The Nobel Prize for Puns?’ | Video

Stephen Colbert accepted an award last night … from “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Naturally, the late night host was presented the honor for his mastery over wordplay.

Elon Musk was the recipient of Colbert’s sick burn. During his opening monologue, Colbert shared that recently someone stole the wheels off of every single Tesla in a Texas parking lot.

“Whoever did it, I do not condone this. But I do appreciate your tireless efforts,” Colbert said on Thursday night. The CBS host then feigned shock and reached off camera to grab an award. “What’s this? The Nobel Prize for Puns? Thank you so much!”

That was far from the only joke about Teslas and Musk Colbert had on Thursday. While showing a picture of an angry-looking Musk in a lei, Colbert described the CEO and head of DOGE as “guest at the White Lotus undressing that corpse with his eyes.” He then noted that there have been a great deal of Tesla protests across the country.

“I want to be clear. I do not condone violence or vandalism of any kind. That is a deeply held belief of mine that comes from the bottom of my CBS legal department,” Colbert clarified. He then pointed out that there’s a growing trend of Cybertrucks being covered in garbage or used as skate ramps.

“To be fair, that might not be vandalism. That might just be a simple mistake because they do look a lot like a dumpster,” Colbert said. Watch the full opening monologue above.
