Roguelite Twin Stick Action Title ‘Demon Spore’ Arriving This July on Steam [Trailer]

The wait for Null Games and developer DinoBoss’ twin stick action roguelite Demon Spore finally has a release window. Announced during the recent Twitch Galaxies showcase with a new animated trailer, the 80s monster movie send-up will arrive on Steam in July 2025. The February demo is still very much available to provide some relief.

Meanwhile, the new animated trailer provided backstory to the eponymous Demon Spore’s origin, and also revealed the availability of online co-op at launch so players can fight – and die – against an ever-growing mass of flesh and tentacles.

Ahead of its launch this July, Demon Spore fans will also have the opportunity to potentially participate in closed playtests to get even more hands-on online co-op mayhem. More details and dates will be announced soon, but those interested are can fill out the Null Playtester form to be kept up to date on potential future playtests.

Demon Spore puts players in the shoes of a terrified scientist caught in the middle of an ethically questionable experiment gone deadly wrong. As the grotesque creatures spread throughout the facility, options for survival begin to fade, bringing the desperate need for careful planning and improvisation to escape alive. Players must destroy hordes of enemies with beakers of acid, scalpel launchers, and good old fashioned shotguns while frantically charging to the next area for a brief moment of respite. Use security tokens to manipulate the Demon Spore and collect powerful abilities to assist on the harrowing journey to the rooftop.
