Netflix’s 2023 animated MonsterVerse show “Skull Island” will continue in a four-issue comic series titled Return to Skull Island.

Written by Simon Furman (Transformers) and illustrated by Christopher Jones (Doctor Who: Once Upon a Time Lord), the series launches on June 18 from Titan Comics and Legendary Comics.

It follows a group of survivors stranded on the perilous South Pacific Island. As they uncover its dark secrets, they face life-threatening challenges and fight for survival in a land where every creature is a threat – including Kong himself!

Return to Skull Island #1 will have seven variant covers, including artwork by Inhyuk Lee and Chris Jones. They’re pictured below, along with a trailer.

Developed by Brian Duffield (No One Will Save You, Love and Monsters), “Skull Island” is set in 1993, placing it between Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla in the MonsterVerse canon.
