A PS Store page for a Dark Souls parody game has gone live, the description for which has been branded “racist” by some players. We’re pretty sure “Dark Farts: Bollywood Smell Edition” is a joke entry by a publisher called Violarte sp. z o. o., but it highlights a long-running problem with the PS Store that Sony continues to ignore.
PS Store game ‘Dark Farts’ takes slop to a whole new level
Players spotted the PS Store entry for whatever Dark Farts is, and we can confirm that it’s still up at the time of this writing. The game even has a trailer on YouTube that was uploaded a week ago, so it looks like the page has been live for at least that long.
Since we’re sure Sony will end up nuking the page when it makes rounds, here’s what the description looks like followed by the trailer:
In a now-deleted Reddit thread, some players argued that Dark Farts’ description contains racist stereotypes and urged fellow gamers to report the page, while others argued that it’s an obvious joke.
Whatever the case, Dark Farts highlights a major issue with how games are added to the PS Store. Just yesterday, we reported that the new PS Store Dealmania promotion is full of shovelware.
Unfortunately, Sony doesn’t seem too interested in plugging the loopholes that allow junk into the PS Store.
