Sony and PlayStation have deployed various beta programs throughout the company’s home video game console platform’s lifetime. Now, the company announced it is streamlining the process of these tests with a new PlayStation Beta Program.
How do you sign up for the PlayStation Beta Program?
Announced today, the new Beta Program is “an easier, more consolidated way for gamers to sign up to participate in future PlayStation betas.” What exactly does this entail? Well, players that register can potentially gain access to beta tests for upcoming PS5 console and PC games, new PS5 console features, PlayStation App features, and PlayStation.com features.
There are several requirements needed in order to be eligible to sign up for the new PlayStation Beta Program and participate in its tests. Here they are as listed by Sony:
- Players must have a valid account for PlayStation Network in good standing with a current email address. Accounts with restrictions or violations may not be eligible for participation.
- Players must live in the region where Beta Program at PlayStation is available.
- Players must meet the legal age requirement for their region.
In order to sign up, players can register at this link here starting today. Players will have to sign in with their PSN account, and accept its terms and conditions. Then they’ll begin setting up their profile, which tasks them with choosing their three favorite genres, three favorite play modes, preferred platform, the types of betas they want to participate in, favorite play style, and their age range. That really is all there is to it.
Sony does iterate that registering for the PlayStation Beta Program does not guarantee access to every test. There may be cases where more players opt in to a beta than it can accommodate. It should also be noted that this program is available globally, and not locked to a certain region.
