The other day came the news that Marvel was pausing development on three TV series projects that it never officially announced – “Nova,” “Strange Academy,” and “Terror, Inc.”. Now, The Insneider has offered more details on what happened there.

Their sources suggest that Ed Bernero’s “Nova” series is still likely to happen, but they don’t expect any movement on that until well into next year. Previously, Brandon Sklenar (“1923,” “It Ends with Us”) was rumored to be taking the lead role in the project and that may still happen.

They also indicate Marvel went as far as opening a writer’s room for “Strange Academy” which was going to focus on a school for young wizards and warlocks with Benedict Wong’s Wong to lead the cast.

That’s going on pause and likely won’t proceed until Marvel has a better idea of what “Doctor Strange 3” will be. Wong also has commitments to the next two seasons of Netflix’s “3 Body Problem”.

They say Marvel’s TV division is currently focused on the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” post-production on “Wonder Man” and getting going on the Vision series.

Marvel is also believed to still be developing the Scarlett Johansson-led “Blonde Phantom” series, a live-action Wakanda show, and a potential “X Academy” series focusing on young mutants.

Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel, also teased this week with EW that “Hawkeye” is a series that could potentially do a second season because “you can kind of revisit it whenever” and “we’re looking for opportunities to do that”.

One such opportunity has already arisen with Variety today reporting that Tony Dalton is reprising his “Hawkeye” role of Jack Duquesne, aka The Swordsman, in two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again”.
