On the English support site, the description for the product now reads, “Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system.” On the Japanese storefront, there’s a note that brings up how the new titles aren’t eligible for the promotion. Typically, you would pay 9,980円 or $99.98 for a pair of vouchers that could be put toward two digital copies in the eShop. The company also announced the My Nintendo Gold Points initiative is shuttering. If you purchased digital or physical games, you’d get points that could be put towards games or DLC. Each Gold Point was worth a penny, so you could use that to get a discount or outright buy items. You can’t earn them starting on March 25, 2025, and the last points you earn are good for a year.
