Newly Titled Sequel ‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’ is Now in Production!

Legendary’s upcoming sequel to Godzilla x Kong has been unveiling its impressive cast list over the past few weeks. Today, the new MonsterVerse movie gets its official title, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, as production begins.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will release in theaters on March 26, 2027, via Warner Bros.

This next installment in the big screen universe will feature several new human characters alongside the iconic Titans as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.

The announced cast thus far also includesSam Neill (Jurassic Park franchise), Alycia Debnam-Carey (“Fear the Walking Dead”), Kaitlyn Dever (No One Will Save You), Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake), Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), and Matthew Modine (“Stranger Things”). Dan Stevens will also be reprising his role as kaiju expert Trapper from last year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Grant Sputore (I Am Mother) is directing, and Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), who helped establish the MonsterVerse with a story credit on 2014’s Godzilla, wrote the screenplay.

This will be the sixth installment in the MonsterVerse that kicked off back in 2014, with the television shows “Skull Island” and “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” building out the universe.

The new title announcement comes with an intriguing video from the office of Monarch, the organization that tracks Titans. A close-up of a computer screen reveals text that asks fans to report any and all sightings of Titans.

Stay tuned for additional news on this upcoming sequel. In the meantime, report a Titan Sighting. Call (240) MON-ARCH.
