New Trailer For Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Asks Us To Trust Tom Cruise One More Time

For Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning to feel like an actual cinematic event, it must live up to its title by being a vastly different picture than 2023’s Dead Reckoning. Aside from being promoted as one part of a larger story, the previous installment tried to sell audiences on its timely tale about the dangers of A.I. while leaning on the standard winning formula that typically lures audiences in: A global crisis, lots of running, and of course Tom Cruise’s latest eye-popping stunt. All of that is simply window dressing for what could be the legendary movie star’s final outing as Ethan Hunt.

Paramount just dropped a brand-new trailer and poster for The Final Reckoning. The reported $400 million blockbuster not only sees Hunt continue his quest to stop The Entity but also finds his past coming back into play. Most notably his actions breaking into the Langley vault from the 1996 film as well as the mysterious Rabbit’s Foot from 2006’s Mission: Impossible III. See the full trailer below.

The official synopsis for The Final Reckoning reads as follows: “Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”

Cruise stars alongside Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, and Henry Czerny. Angela Bassett reprises her role from 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout. New additions to the franchise include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, and Hannah Waddingham. Christopher McQuarrie returns to the director’s chair with a screenplay by McQuarrie and Erik Jendresen.
