Lincoln Center is in the midst of its Kathleen Hanna and Tamar-kali curated-American Songbook: Singer Outsiders series, which “uplifts women and nonbinary musicians who have shaped the modern landscape of music and continue to drive conversations on gender, identity, and empowerment,” and the latest installment happened on Sunday night (4/6) at Wu Tsai Theater at David Geffen hall, where ESG and Gossip honored ’70s rock band Fanny. Between their sets, Kathleen, Tamar-kali, Shanta Thake and Toshi Reagon spoke, and Fanny were given the inaugural American Songbook Award.
