HBO has reported that the third season finale of “The White Lotus” pulled in 6.2 million viewers across both HBO and MAX streaming in the United States alone in its initial airing reports The Wrap.

That’s a 30% jump over the record viewership for the much talked about series last week, and a 51% jump over the second season finale in late 2022.

Overall viewership for Mike White’s critically acclaimed anthology series continues to grow – the first episode of the third season is now reportedly nearing 20 million viewers and each episode this season has averaged approximately 16 million viewers.

It’s not HBO’s biggest show these days, that is a neck-and-neck race between “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us” with their respective second and first season finales pulling in 8.9 million and 8.2 million U.S. viewers across both HBO and Max in its initial airing.

But it’s streets ahead of “Succession” which scored a comparatively slim 2.9 million viewers with its series finale last May.

The third season of “The White Lotus” has also done quite well critically, pulling in a 77/100 on Metacritic and an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes – slightly down from the first two seasons which were 82/90% and 81/94% respectively.

Season four of “The White Lotus” has already been greenlit, but neither HBO nor White has revealed where it will occur.
