Listen to The Raveonettes’ first album of original songs in 11 years

Danish psych band The Raveonettes just released Pe’ahi II, a sequel to their 2014 album Pe’ahi and their first studio album of original material since then. Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo have literally picked up right where they left off, with Wagner saying, “It follows the same themes of fragility of life, death, longing and, not least, vulnerability.” I’m only on my first spin but it’s sounding good, with the surfy guitars, Everly Brothers harmonies, reverby drums, atmospheric arrangements, and big hooks you know and love. In addition to the new album, The Raveonettes will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Pretty in Black on tour this fall, including NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on October 1 with Shallowater. All dates are below.
