Jessica Jones Returns In New “Daredevil”

It’s official, Krysten Ritter will reprise her role of Marvel hero Jessica Jones for the upcoming second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” which is currently in production.

The announcement was made as part of Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday with Ritter and co-star Charlie Cox taking to the stage to make the announcement.

Ritter says in a statement: “It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU. I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”

Ritter first played the character in the 2015 series “Jessica Jones,” the first season of which remains one of the most acclaimed seasons of television Marvel has done to date.

Ritter received widespread for her role as a New York private investigator with superhuman strength and a whole lot of issues. It’s not clear if any of her co-stars from the original show like Rachael Taylor, Wil Traval or Eka Darville will return.

She joins ‘Born Again’ first season returnees Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal who are all expected back for the new run.

Cox also confirmed he’s not involved in “Avengers: Doomsday”: “Not me. I’m excited to see it, but I’m not involved in that”. He did confirm that the second season of his show will have some big cameos.
