Folk Bitch Trio announce debut LP & US shows, share “Cathode Ray”

Melbourne-based band Folk Bitch Trio, featuring Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington, and Heide Peverell, have announced their debut LP, Now Would Be a Good Time, due out on July 25 via Jagjaguwar. They recorded it in Auckland with Tom Healy, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

They’ve also shared a new single, “Cathode Ray,” which follows their recent single “The Actor.” It’s lush with gorgeous harmonies, and Sinclair says it “expresses a feeling of being trapped in myself, and wanting to break out of that so violently that I’m literally talking about opening up a body viscerally. It’s about frustration, and knowing there’s no cheap thrill that’s going to fix that.” Hear both songs below.

Folk Bitch Trio have a couple of US shows lined up this summer, in NYC (Night Club 101 on July 22) and Los Angeles (Permanent Records Roadhouse on July 24), as well as shows in Europe and the UK. Tickets are on sale now, and you can see all dates below.
