Creed Spinoff Series Delphi Announced For Amazon Prime Video

In an era where few popular movie franchises are immune to universe-building, Rocky has been given a new lease on life thanks to the Michael B. Jordan-led Creed trilogy. The A-list star riding high off the success of Sinners had announced plans to expand past Adonis Creed shortly after the release of 2023’s Creed III. Now, the first of those projects has been revealed.

Per Deadline, Jordan and his production company Outlier Society are set to produce the series Delphi for Amazon Prime Video. Fans of the Rocky franchise will recognize the title as the name of the Los Angeles-based boxing academy where Adonis’s famous father Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) had trained under his manager Tony ‘Duke’ Evers. This series will spotlight the next generation of fighters training at the famous gym which Jordan detailed during Amazon’s upfronts.

“The series that takes us back to where it all began. What I love about this story is that it stays true to what the Rocky and Creed franchise is all about: hard work, determination, and fighting for something bigger than yourself. It’s about family, the ones we’re born into and the ones that we created. We’re building something special here, and I’m excited to introduce you to new fighters that will walk into the Delphi. As always, in Creed we say, one step, one round, one punch at a time.”

As for the status of Creed IV, longtime producer Irwin Winkler confirmed the development of Adonis Creed’s next chapter in late 2023 with Jordan back in the director’s chair. In March, Jordan told The Hollywood Reporter about his interest in bringing back Jonathan Majors as Dame Anderson despite the actor’s legal troubles following Creed III’s release.

“He was arrested. He went to court. He did what he was supposed to do. I’m not sure what else there is. I would love to make Creed IV together — among other projects.”

Marco Ramirez will serve as showrunner and co-executive producer alongside Jordan and Liz Raposo for Delphi. Irwin Winkler, David Winkler, and Charles Winkler of Chartoff/Winkler Productions also serve as executive producers.
