IHG Business Rewards offering double points + 2 bonus elite night credits for every $3k spend

IHG Business Rewards is once again offering a promotion giving double points. In addition to that, this time they’re also awarding two bonus elite night credits for every $3,000 spent on rooms, meetings and events.

• To be eligible for the IHG Business Rewards 2X Points plus 2 Bonus Elite Night Credits per $3K spend (up to 10 Credits) offer (the “Offer”), a person must be an IHG Business Rewards member, which includes acceptance of the IHG Business Rewards Program Terms and Conditions, and the Business Rewards member must have registered for the Offer.
• Once an IHG Business Rewards member has registered for the Offer, the member will be eligible to earn double the IHG One Rewards points on Qualifying Spend for all stays, meetings, and/or events that are booked during the period from February 13, 2025, through June 30, 2025 (“Booking Period”) and completed during the period from February 13, 2025, through November 30, 2025 (“Offer Period”).
• Additionally, a member will earn 2 Bonus Elite Night Credits (up to 10 nights) for every $3,000 Offer-Qualifying spend during the Offer Period.
• The time needed for awarding points can vary with each promotional offer, so please allow up to 6 weeks for any earned bonus points and Bonus Elite Night Credits to be posted to the recipient’s account.
• For this Offer, earning “2X” or “2X points” or “double points” on stays or events booked and completed within the Booking and Offering periods as set forth above means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base IHG One Rewards points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG Business Rewards member. Therefore, under the Offer, a member can earn three (3) base points for every $1 USD of Qualifying Spend and an additional three (3) bonus points for every $1 USD of Qualifying Spend, for a total of six (6) points for each $1 USD. The first three (3) base points earned are considered Elite Qualifying Points that count towards IHG One Rewards Elite status. The additional three (3) bonus points awarded as part of the Offer are Non-Elite Qualifying Points under the IHG One Rewards program.
• Earning two “Bonus Elite Night Credits” for every $3,000 Offer-Qualifying spend during the Offer Period, up to a maximum of ten (10) Bonus Elite Night Credits during the Promotion Period means for every $3,000 you spend under the Offer, you will be credited with two Elite Qualifying Nights for purposes of determining your Elite membership status and your Milestone Rewards earned under the IHG One Rewards program in 2025.
• “Bonus Elite Night Credits” do not qualify as Rollover Nights or as Qualifying Nights for any other purpose or benefit under the IHG One Rewards program.
• Points awarded under this Offer are based on Qualifying Spend within the Offer Period only. There is no limit on the number of stays, meetings, or events that may be booked under the Offer, however, a maximum of 120,000 total points (which is the amount that would be awarded for $20,000 in Qualifying Spend) can be earned on any one qualifying stay, meeting, and/or event covered by this Offer, including all guest room bookings and other Qualifying Spend linked to such stay, meeting, and/or event.
• Spend for stays, meetings, and/or events that were booked outside of the Booking Period or that were not completed within the Offer Period will not qualify for 2X points or Bonus Elite Night Credits under this Offer.

Quick Thoughts

IHG Business Rewards ran a similar double points promotion last fall, but without the ability to earn bonus elite night credits too.

As a recap in case you’re not familiar with IHG Business Rewards, it’s a program IHG offers to people who organize lodging, meeting rooms, etc. for businesses. The business normally earns three points per dollar spent which is in addition to the points earned by the people staying in rooms at the IHG property they’re booked into, so this double points promo means the business will earn six points per dollar.

There is a big caveat to this though. The person running the IHG Business Rewards account can’t earn points on their own stay. That means they can’t book a stay for themselves through IHG Business Rewards and earn 10x on their own room as well as 6x from this double points promo. If, on the other hand, you need to book a stay for one of your employees, that would be fine as you’d earn the 6x points via this promotion and your employee would earn 10x points on their own IHG One Rewards account.

The ability to earn two elite night credits for every $3,000 of spend is great too if your business will be spending a substantial amount. That’s even more the case now that IHG offers Milestone Rewards. There’s a maximum of 10 bonus elite night credits that can be earned during the promo period (i.e. $15,000 of spend) which is enough to get you halfway to the first set of Milestone Rewards. That level includes, among other options, the ability to redeem for a Confirmable Suite Upgrade award.
