Hell of a Summer will slash onto digital platforms for purchase and rent tomorrow, April 22, before arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on July 8 via Neon.

Described as “Friday the 13th meets Wet Hot American Summer,” the slasher comedy is co-written and co-directed by actors Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”), Billy Bryk (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).

Special Features:

  • Audio Commentary by Writer-Director-Actor Billy Bryk, Writer-Director-Actor Finn Wolfhard, and Actor Fred Hechinger
  • Blooper Reel
  • Fireside Chat
  • And More

24-year-old camp counselor Jason Hochberg arrives at Camp Pineway thinking his biggest problem is that he feels out of touch with his teenage co-workers. What he doesn’t know is that a masked killer is lurking on the campgrounds, brutally picking counselors off one by one.

Fred Hechinger (Fear Street Part One: 1994) stars with Wolfhard, Bryk, Abby Quinn (Knock at the Cabin), D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (“Reservation Dogs”), Pardis Saremi (“Death and Other Details”), Rosebud Baker (“Life & Beth”), and Adam Pally (Sonic the Hedgehog).

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Hell of a Summer isn’t really a slasher comedy so much as it is a representation of actual teens telling a story about transitioning into adulthood over what was meant to be one final hoorah at summer camp. That alone will win over its target audience and then some, but it’s clear that Wolfhard and Bryk are still at the earliest stages of honing their craft in form and technique.”
