Exclusive: SSP unveils four-venue food court at King Abdulaziz International Airport

SAUDI ARABIA. Global travel restaurateur SSP Group has shared details of a four-venue food court at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport with The Moodie Davitt Report.

Set in 321.5sq m in the Terminal 1 domestic departures area, the new food court features a range of international cuisines from Falafel & Friends (Mediterranean/Middle East), Patamar (International/Asian), Negroni (Italian) and Sip & Mix (fresh juices and smoothies).

These diverse food & beverage offers are complemented by a 176-cover food court. Seating is available in a variety of formats, including banquet, dining table, high seating and sofas.

SSP described the vibrantly coloured food court as having a “modern and sleek design which creates an energetic atmosphere, perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely meal in a comfortable and airy setting”. Predominant materials at the location include glass, steel and wood.

A variety of seating options are available in the food court, from comfortable sofas for leisurely dining to high barstools for drinks and quick bites

Falafel & Friends serves Mediterranean and Middle East cuisine, specialising in falafel and other Arabian favourites such as Shish Taouk, Lamb & Okra Stew and Lamb Machboos. There are also breakfast, sandwich and salad options, plus falafel and mixed shawarma platters.

Patamar offers a diverse range of international cuisines, blending traditional flavours with modern twists. From spicy Indian curries to savoury Southeast Asian dishes and hearty Japanese ramen bowls, SSP noted the menu is designed to take the guest on a “culinary journey” around the world.

Menu highlights from Patamar include Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh, Chicken Adobo, Thai Fish, Stir Fried Beef Broccoli and Chicken Katsu Curry.

Also available are varieties of dosa (pancakes made from rice flour and ground pulses), including Dosa Masala and Dosa Egg.

Negroni serves a classic Italian menu, dominated by pizzas and pasta dishes.

SSP is also operating crêpeaffaire, located adjacent to the new food court

Sip & Mix offers smoothies, such as Strawberry & Banana and Mango Passion; and fresh juices, including Mango & Orange, Mango & Banana, Fresh Pomegranate and Orange & Carrot. Coffees, teas and other beverages are also available.

The food offer from the four venues is complemented by a just-opened, adjacent SSP-operated crêpeaffaire outlet, which specialises in sweet and savoury crêpes. Sweet options include fresh fruit and cream-filled crêpes, chocolate and Nutella treats and the ‘Whole Shebang Crêpe’.

SSP will eventually operate 31 F&B venues at Jeddah Airport, including three to-go pop-up units. Seven are still to open.  ‍
