DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Gets New Med-Telephoto Mode and Other Improvements
Released just back in the fall of 2023, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has proven to be a popular and very capable gimbal camera recording device. With its 4K at 120fps 10-bit video recording capabilities, it's certainly been in the mix for quality run-and-gun content creation, too.But with the number of new products that have been rolling out lately, it’d be easy to expect a DJI Osmo Pocket 4 to come out anytime soon. Yet, interestingly enough, DJI has chosen to introduce a pretty significant firmware update to the Osmo Pocket 3, signaling that it’s still very much in the company’s plans.This new update adds a new Med-Tele mode, which is set to bring some substantial image quality improvements to the camera when zoomed in to its 40mm focal equivalent. When enabled, a 2x magnified mid-telephoto view can now be achieved with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 while still maintaining a maximum 4K UHD resolution, which should help enhance image resolution and preserve more texture details.This firmware update is also set to add a new breathing compensation feature along with a D-Log M (10-bit) color option when shooting in webcam mode.
