Chloé expands Nomade fragrance line with Lumière d’Égypte
The fragrance bridges ancient Egyptian ingredients with contemporary fragrance notes, paying homage to the birthplace of Founder Gaby Aghion.

Coty has introduced Chloé Lumière d’Égypte, the latest addition to the Nomade fragrance line. The scent, which draws inspiration from Egypt’s olfactory heritage, launched in global travel retail on 1 February.
Launched in 2018, Chloé Nomade takes inspiration from the spirit of travel and femininity. Lumière d’Égypte builds on this tradition by paying tribute to the birthplace of Chloé Founder Gaby Aghion and the region’s deep-rooted perfumery traditions.
Developed by Perfumer Cécile Matton, Lumière d’Égypte was designed to capture the contrasts of Egypt’s landscape. It opens with a blue lotus accord, offering a light floral scent with aquatic notes. The heart features jasmine grandiflorum absolute, which introduces a warm, velvety character. The base comprises a kyphi accord, complemented by pink pepper and elemi essential oil, creating a mineral and spiced finish.
The blue lotus is a waterlily which grows on the Nile river. Used for centuries in Egyptian rituals, this flower opens at dawn and closes by mid-afternoon, releasing a distinct aquatic fragrance.
Kyphi is an ancient Egyptian incense blend, whose use was recorded in archaeological texts from the Temple of Horus in Edfu and the Temple of Hathor in Dendera.
Historically, kyphi was burned in religious ceremonies to honour the sun god Ra and was used for its medicinal benefits. The fragrance reinterprets this blend with a modern composition of cinnamon bark, sandalwood and myrrh.
Lumière d’Égypte is presented in Nomade’s signature flacon, with a dusky-blue fabric knot around its neck. The fabric is a reference to the deep blues often used in Mediterranean and Egyptian ceramics and pottery. The campaign imagery features the bottle against a backdrop of handcrafted ceramic plates, decorated with lotus motifs inspired by Egyptian antiquities.
