Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally brought the incredibly popular Ubisoft franchise to Japan. Now that it has been out for a month, the company announced its Year 1 Post-Launch Roadmap for the game, which brings plenty of free content to Naoe and Yasuke’s adventure.

What are the freebies coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Announced in Ubisoft’s recent video for the Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Year 1 Roadmap Update, the company announced its next bit of content is coming in “early May.” Specifically, a new story quest called The Works of Luis Frois will be available for free next month. Additionally, a Codex update and quality-of-life improvements will be implemented early next month.

In “late May,” the first “special collaboration” will come to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Exactly who or what the collab will be is not yet known, but Ubisoft does like to cross-promote, like Sam Fisher being in Rainbow Six Siege or Star Fox in Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Assassin’s Creed has collaborated with franchises outside of Ubisoft’s umbrella, including Destiny and Final Fantasy. The game will also see a parkour update and photo mode update around the same time.

The second free Assassin’s Creed Shadows story quest releases in June. It will also feature new difficulty settings, gameplay immersion options, open world alarm system, and an option to toggle headgear on or off in cutscenes.

Ubisoft also revealed what Assassin’s Creed Shadows players can look forward to within the first year of the game’s release. Most notable is a New Game Plus mode. The upcoming months will also see community feedback updates, new story drops, more special collaborations, Codex updates, Animus content, and other new rewards. Optional paid content coming to the game within the next 12 months include more store drops and the Claws of Awaji expansion.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on the PlayStation Store starting at $69.99.
