PS5 Players Already Treated to Numerous Hit Games in 2025

PlayStation players have had an excellent year thus far as they’ve already been treated to numerous hit PS5 games by April 2025. Earlier today, reviews for Sandfall Interactive’s debut RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 went live, and it’s yet another banger that has received universal acclaim, with an average score of 92/100 on Metacritic at the time of this writing.

PS5 players have added advantage of acclaimed Xbox games in 2025

The backlog is going to be pretty intense this year, thanks in no small part to Microsoft releasing acclaimed Xbox Game Studios titles like Forza 5 and Indiana Jones on the PS5, with more expected later in 2025.

In terms of new releases, Split Fiction and Blue Prince released to widespread praise from players and critics alike. Then, there’s Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is out tomorrow, Apil 24.

There are a lot of high-profile games coming in 2025, some of which are PS5 console exclusives. Lost Soul Aside is scheduled for release in May, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is due out in June, Days Gone Remastered is out in two days, Mafia: The Old Country is coming in August, and Ghost of Yotei has received an October release date.

Suffice to say, 2025 won’t be easy on our wallets.
