Beloved PS2 Classic Is Less Than $3 on PS Store

As one sales promotion leaves, another enters. The PS Store currently has its “Big Games Big Deals” promotion, which allows PS5 and PS4 users to save up to 70% on some of the best games on the digital marketplace. This includes this very popular PS2 shooter.

TimeSplitters 2 is less than a gallon of milk on PS Store

TimeSplitters 2 is currently $2.49 on the PS Store. This is a 75% discount off its typical $9.99 price tag. Although the deal ends in a couple of weeks, players may want to act fast so they don’t forget. The offer expires on May 8 at 2:59 A.M. ET.

“TimeSplitters 2 returns, surpassing its predecessor with a larger-than-life experience,” reads the game’s description. “This sequel expands on every front, offering faster-paced action, richer storytelling, and diverse graphical styles across nine thrilling time-traveling adventures. From the lawless Wild West to the neon-lit streets of Neo Tokyo, each era boasts its own atmosphere and challenges.”

This port of the beloved PS2 first-person shooter is playable on both PS4 and PS5. It includes the campaign, which can be played in single-player or cooperatively, as well as local multiplayer up to four players. This version also supports PS5 game streaming. Players interested in streaming the game do need to subscribe to the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus.

When TimeSplitters 2 was originally released in 2002, it received tremendous reviews. According to the review aggregate website Metacritic, the Free Radical developed shooter garnered an average score of 90 across 33 critic reviews. Aside from the PS2, it launched on the original Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube.

The TimeSplitters franchise as a whole is fondly remembered by PS2 owners. However, it was short-lived. The first entry was released in 2000, with its third and last entry released in 2005. They have since been ported to modern consoles, but a new entry hasn’t been seen for 20 years.
