Bethesda is known for developing some of the most beloved RPG franchises in video game history. In particular, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout have both made an impact that has influenced some of the video games that followed them. The developer is also known for its jank, which some would argue adds to each game’s charm. Although it rebuilds and improves the original release, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered still allows players to use some of the exploits from the 2006 RPG.
Oblivion PS5 remaster faithfully recreates some of its exploits
In a recent discussion on the Elder Scrolls subreddit, players have found that some of the old exploits from the original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion work in the newly released remaster.
One of the top comments from user iamtheallrangeatomc pertains to a useful lockpicking exploit. Specifically, when players find a locked door that can be locked picked in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, they can set one of the tumblers and just keep spamming that one pin. They said they got their security to level 100 and their overall level to 12 by doing this.
Another user named theMMW says the bound armor glitch still works in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This allows players to have weightless armor by repairing bound armor, dropping it, then waiting until that armor is supposed to disappear.
User BogEye1999 says the Peryite’s Shrine Skill exploit also works in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This allows players to get some easy combat experience by attacking the frozen monks in Peryite’s Shrine.
While some of the old exploits are available for people to use in The Elder Scrolls IV: Remastered, it does seem some are patched out of the game. Some notable removals include the scroll and bow dupe exploit, which allowed players to duplicate items, and the Dorian gold exploit, which allowed players to essentially get unlimited gold.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
