A bunch of veteran Northeast Pennsylvania hardcore bands are coming together for a benefit show for Neil Husvar, who played in the ’90s Scranton hardcore band Option before moving to Palm Springs, pursuing his photographer career, and working with Goldenvoice. Neil recently passed away, and the proceeds from this show will help cover his final expenses and also benefit suicide prevention & support resources.

It goes down on May 25 at St. Marys Center (320 Mifflin Ave in Scranton, PA) with the long-running Strength For A Reason, a reunion from ’90s Wilkes-Barre band Burial Ground (with Steve Option from Option filling in on lead vocals for the late Jamie White), Option playing their own set, and fellow ’90s Scranton band Side Over, along with newer PAHC bands Fools Game (who just dropped their new LP Something for the Pain on Triple B last week) and Cheated, and an acoustic set from ’90s Wilkes-Barre band Soughwutt (who have recently been releasing re-recordings of old tracks). Doors are at 5 PM. See the poster below.

On Instagram, Option wrote, “Well… it’s been a LONG time, but I can’t see a better reason to get back up on that stage, than to celebrate the life of a founding member of Option, who left us far too soon… please share far and wide.”
