Another Compact and Capable Wireless Microphone System is Here
We’ve seen several wireless audio recording systems over the past few months from the likes of Shure, RODE, and even DJI step into the space. But more competition is never a bad thing, so we’re excited to see another new challenge emerge with the Saramonic Mix from Saramonic. This new wireless microphone system is a compact system that uses 2.4 GHz transmission frequency brands and will come with one receiver and two transmitters. A neat perk for this system will be its battery life, with built-in batteries for each unit that together will give users up to six hours of operation time, a high number for the size and price point of this system.Let’s look at what else the Saramonic Mix has to offer for your audio recording (for video, podcasts, or other content types) needs. The Saramonic MixAs we’ve seen with other systems, the Saramonic Mix is indeed quite compact and easy to use. The transmitters themselves feature built-in microphones as well as built-in 3.5mm microphone inputs so that you’ll have options for recording directly to them or through your preferred higher-end microphones. As mentioned above, this Saramonic Mix system features two receivers and one transmitter that all can fit into a charging case with a compact form factor of just 4.8 x 2.1 x 2.7in and weighing just 230g. The receivers will feature LED indicators to show if and when they’re connected (no screens on these), and both will feature a 3.5mm audio output and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The case mentioned above can also charge the system with a capacity of 3,500 mAh and can be plugged in via USB-C, which can also be utilized to pair directly to an iPhone or Android smartphone with some included USB-C adapters.2.4 GHz BandwidthWith the Saramonic Mix’s 2.4 GHz bandwidth, users will be able to transmit data between the transmitter and the two receivers at up to 1312 feet (or 400m) away for a pretty significant range of operation. The Saramonic Mix will also only have a latency of just 7ms, which, along with its AES 128-bit encryption, should give a good mix of connectivity and privacy. The transmitter will also feature some basic gain adjustment buttons as well as a front power switch that lets you know when it is connected to the receiver. Again, a bit bare bones, but it's functional nonetheless.Price and AvailabilityThe Sarmonic Mix is set to retail at $169, and you can check out the specs below as well as find out more about the system on Saramonic’s website here.
