View from the Wing reports on a development sure to excite American Airlines loyalists: AA has redesigned the account activity dashboard to make it easier to find and sort your transactions. This could be really useful for someone chasing American Airlines elite status and looking to track transaction activity carefully.
Previously, American Airlines had a very modern look to the account activity page, with transactions showing up in a series of white boxes that looked pretty, but couldn’t be sorted or searched easily. The tiles looked like this:
Now you can easily search or sort using a number of filters:
As Gary notes at View from the Wing, clicking on a transaction gives all of the pertinent details. When I clicked on one of my flights, I could see the date, confirmation number, ticket number, etc. All of that detail could be really useful if something fails to credit as you expected.
Overall, this is a really nice improvement to the user experience that I might not have expected to see given that it looks a little less “modern” this way. I’m glad to see that American chose function over form in this case.
