Alan Cumming has confirmed that his X-Men character Nightcrawler is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
The Traitors US host, who appeared as the blue skinned mutant in 2003’s X-Men 2, has revealed that he’s already undergone makeup tests for the movie.
“I had some makeup tests already,” Cumming told Today With Jenna & Friends. “It was like four and a half to five hours [of makeup] before, and now it’s 90 minutes.”
Cumming explained when he played Nightcrawler pervously “all the tattoos” on his character’s skin “were done by hand because they hadn’t decided on them before we started filming.”
“Now they’re on these little things that stick on [my face,]” he said of Nightcrawler’s distinctive tattoos. “It’s a game changer.”
He added: “[Avengers: Doomsday] starts shooting quite soon. It’s going to be nuts.”
A host of X-Men stars were recently unveiled for the forthcoming Marvel movie including Patrick Stewart, who is set to reprise his role as Professor Charles Xavier, and Ian McKellen, who will be returning as Magneto.
Among the returning cast members are Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, his Captain America: Brave New World co-star Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/The Falcon; Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man; Tom Hiddleston as Loki; Letitia Wright as Shuri; and her Black Panther: Wakanda Forever co-star Winston Duke as M’Baku.
Some recent newcomers to the MCU were also announced for Doomsday. They include Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing from this summer’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
A number of Thunderbolts stars were also confirmed, including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Lewis Pullman as the mysterious Bob, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
