REPO PS5, PS4 on PS Store

REPO [R.E.P.O.], a popular horror game on PC is trending on the PS Store in multiple regions, exciting some players who have been looking forward to PS5, PS4 versions. The problem is, PS Store’s version of REPO is actually a scam, and some players almost fell for it.

REPO PS5, PS4 versions have never been announced

We’ve become accustomed to PS Store shovelware clogging virtually every corner of Sony‘s online storefront — from new games to demos. However, seeing a ripoff in the “trending games” section ahead of hits like Split Fiction is a new low for the PS Store. And what’s worse is that this scam page managed to confuse even some regular users.

REPO is a big hit on PC, and happens to be trending on some social media sites like TikTok, so it’s understandable why it’s trending on the PS Store. But what’s hard to understand is how and why Sony continues to let this problem get worse.

“Been wanting this on console, so happy to see it just there,” wrote one unsuspecting player on Reddit before someone broke the news to them. “Hope it drops with cross-play.” “It’s like Lethal Company,” explained another unsuspecting player. “It’s a lot of fun.”

To be clear, REPO has not been announced for PlayStation. I’ve looked up the developer behind the PS Store scam, and they apparently have a history of releasing games on Nintendo’s store — another online storefront notorious for shovelware.
