Saban Films has acquired the North American rights to the “off-the-wall” horror film Traumatika for a theatrical release later this year.

Mikey’s night terrors become reality when his mother begins showing signs of demonic possession. What he’s about to experience will haunt him for the rest of his life and claim countless lives across generations.

Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches) directs from a script he co-wrote with producer Maxime Rancon (Two Witches).

Rebekah Kennedy (Two Witches), Emily Goss, Ranen Navat, AJ Bowen (You’re Next), Sean O’Bryan (“The Middle”), Susan Gayle Watts, and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) star.

Traumatika is not a movie you see – it’s a movie you experience. And there’s no better way to experience it than on the big screen,” said Saban co-presidents Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker. “It’s hard to prepare yourself for the highly disturbing film that Pierre and Maxime have created. They are truly mad genius storytellers… consider yourself warned.”

“Traumatika blends the terror of demonic possession with the visceral intensity of slasher films and the realism of found footage,” Tsigaridis added. “It’s a deeply sensory experience, aimed at fully immersing fans in our nightmarish world. That’s why I’m beyond excited to be partnering with Saban Films to bring the film to theaters—where audiences can truly experience it!”

“This movie is a love letter to the horror subgenres we grew up watching and obsessing over. It’s a twisted, relentless ride made by horror fans, for the horror community; and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart,” noted Rancon. “We can’t wait to share this insane experience with fans who live for the genre as much as we do.”

Traumatika premiered at Fright Fest 2024 and went on to screen at Sitges, San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, Morbido Fest, Fantaspoa, and GrimmFest.
