Tubi's Chess Serial Killer Thriller 'CheckMate' Trailer with Joyce Glenn

"I suggest that you remove her from the case immediately." "I can solve this!" Tubi has unveiled an official trailer for CheckMate, a crime thriller film streaming on Tubi starting in April. The title is an obvious play because it's a crime film involving chess and lots of chess masters. A detective teams up with her estranged father, a chess master, to stop a serial killer who uses the game to select his victims. Of course this is a Tubi release with that plot. The film stars Joyce Glenn as Brittany, the detective lead character, along with Dorien Wilson, Lorenzo Lamas, Andra Fuller, and Sarah Pribis. Directed by filmmaker Jamal Hill, this was filmed in and around the Louisville, Kentucky area last year. This is such a gimmicky setup and the film is so obviously going to connect everything together. I know it's Tubi but they seriously need to pay for better lighting! This ain't no Fincher film! It's made for Tubi fans and true crime nerds - and that's about it.
