Spiritualized announce orchestral ‘Pure Phase’ US shows (BrooklynVegan presale for NYC)
For these shows, Spiritualized will play ‘Pure Phase’ in full, augmented by strings, horns, flutes and a choir.

Spiritualized are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album Pure Phase this year and in March played special orchestral shows in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bristol where the band performed the 68-minute album in full, augmented with horns, strings, flutes and a four-piece choir. They’re bringing it the US this fall with two special shows: Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on September 25 and LA’s The Orpheum on September 28.
You can get Kings Theatre tickets early with the BrooklynVegan Presale that runs Thursday, April 24 from 10 AM – 10 PM. Use the password SPIRITUALIZEDVEGAN.
Tickets for both shows go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 25 at 10 AM local time.
“I think it’s quite extraordinary and I’d probably say it’s my favourite of the records I’ve made,” J Spaceman says of Pure Phase. “The construction of it satisfied something in me that likes breaking the rules, not in any kind of grandiose way but there’s something in the process of that which really satisfies me. Each side of the stereo contains a completely separate mix. I checked the masters back and it still sounds like this extraordinary thing. It exists in its own space; it doesn’t sound like anybody else.” Listen to the album below.
