Ryan Reynolds Teases a New DEADPOOL Project: “I’m Writing a Little Something Right Now”
It’s safe to say that Deadpool isn’t going anywhere and that he’s going to have a long life in the MCU. After the box office dominance of Deadpool & Wolverine, the Merc With a Mouth has secured his place in the Marvel movie universe. But what comes next is still a mystery, though Ryan Reynolds might have just cracked the door open.In a recent interview with Time, Reynolds was asked about the future of Deadpool in the MCU, specifically whether Wade Wilson could take on a supporting role in one of the upcoming Avengers tentpoles. His response?“If [Deadpool] becomes an Avenger or an X-Man, we’re at the end. That’s wish fulfilment, and we can’t give him that.”Now, while he’s making it sound like Deadpool might not show up in the film, he’s specifically talking about becoming a team member here. So, he could still show up in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, but not join one of these superhero teams. I’ll be very surprised if he and Wolverine don’t show up, especially with all of the other X-Men movie characters and Gambit showing up. Reynolds went on to follow that up with a little breadcrumb, saying: “I’m writing a little something right now... it’s an ensemble.”So, he is working on something and it possibly could be another Deadpool movie. This would be the first time we’re hearing anything about a new Deadpool-related project after the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, and it’s good to know that there is movement on something. The actor was previously asked about if he's thought about doing Deadpool 4 yet. Reynolds responded: "Oh now, bite your tongue. That's a… I would love that but there's a reason it's been six years since the last one.”He goes on to say: “It just sort of swallows my life whole and I have four kids that I wouldn't mind introducing myself to at some point, just spend a little time walking them to and from school."We’ll just have to wait and see what is in store for the foul-mouthed, violent, chimichanga-loving anti-hero.For now, we’re left to speculate. With SDCC around the corner where sure to get some answers on things that are coming. View this post on Instagram A post shared by TIME (@time)
