PS4 game in 2025

Rumor has it that a major franchise has no plans to drop PS4 game support in 2025 despite the console being dated and struggling with modern games. Call of Duty 2025, which has yet to be announced, is reportedly in development for last-gen platforms.

Will Call of Duty 2025 be the last game in the franchise to support PS4?

The aforementioned rumor comes from folks over at CharlieINTEL, who have a pretty solid track record when it comes to Call of Duty leaks. The outlet claims to have heard that this year’s blockbuster shooter is in development for both the PS4 and Xbox One — something it called a “wild” decision because Call of Duty players have previously complained about being held back by last-gen platforms.

There was some speculation that Warzone maps were being delayed due to challenges stemming from Activision supporting the PS4. If the aforementioned rumor is true, the publisher likely recognizes that a massive chunk of its player base is still on the PS4 and Xbox One, and doesn’t want to forgo the revenue just yet.

It remains to be seen if Call of Duty 2025 will be the last game in the series to land on the PS4 or not. Worth noting that Activision continued to support the PS3 up until 2015, when it launched Call of Duty: Black Ops III on the platform.
