Prime Video has officially confirmed that Season Three of the critically acclaimed series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is in pre-production. Filming is set to commence this spring at the show’s new production hub, Shepperton Studios in the United Kingdom.
Adding to the excitement, Prime Video has also announced an impressive directorial lineup for the upcoming season. Returning directors Charlotte Brändström and Sanaa Hamri will be joined by Stefan Schwartz, who is making his debut with the series. Each will direct multiple episodes, further expanding the epic storytelling that has captivated millions of viewers worldwide.
Since its debut, The Rings of Power has drawn over 170 million viewers globally, solidifying its status as one of Prime Video’s most-watched original series and a significant driver of Prime membership sign-ups. The first two seasons were met with widespread acclaim, with both earning Certified Fresh ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sanaa Hamri, who directed episodes in Season Two, also returns. Known for her work on The Wheel of Time (Prime Video) and Empire (Fox), Hamri is a veteran director with a strong background in television, film, and music videos.
