Conclusion
I was unaware that any other chain hotel in Bangkok would have been closed for more than a week due to this earthquake. The Park Hyatt, where I managed to have my first stay on its opening day, is not even a tall building. I am glad they have passed the required inspections and are ready to reopen in two days.
The situation in Myanmar is dire, however.
