New York LaGuardia Airport Terminal B celebrates second Skytrax 5-Star rating

USA. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) are celebrating LaGuardia Airport Terminal B’s prestigious 5-Star rating at the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The success builds on its achievement two years ago as the first North American terminal to earn this distinction and the title of World’s Best New Airport Terminal.

This recognition highlights LGP’s and the Port Authority’s commitment to elevating the travel experience through innovative design, advanced facilities and high service standards.

Since 1999, Skytrax’s World Airport Star Rating has set the global benchmark for evaluating airport quality, ranking them from 1 to 5 stars based on facilities, staff service, layout, maintenance and cleanliness.

Since achieving 5-Star status in 2023, LaGuardia Airport Terminal B has continued to elevate the passenger experience with more electrified seating in dining and waiting areas, enhanced directional signage with walking distances and ambient music in key areas.

Recent additions include the 5,109sq m adjacent Atrium Business & Conference Center built by the Port Authority and the Chase Sapphire Lounge. The terminal has also expanded its dining options with Starbucks in the pre-security area and Melt Shop.

Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole said: “Not once, but twice, LaGuardia Airport Terminal B has earned a 5-Star rating from Skytrax and proven itself as one of the world’s great new airport terminals. At our two 5-Star terminals – LaGuardia’s Terminal B and Newark’s Terminal A – spacious, modern terminals with world-class amenities and engaging public art are setting a new standard for air travel.”

Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton added: “From the start, our goal at LaGuardia was to create a new airport that would rise to the level of a 5-Star Skytrax rating with a passenger experience that is truly world class from curb to gate.

“A 5-Star rating from Skytrax is proof that working with our private partner, LaGuardia Gateway Partners, we have flipped the script at LaGuardia, which has gone from worst to what is now the nation’s best airport.”
