Kokoroko announce new album and US tour, share “Sweetie”

London-based jazz collective Kokoroko have announced new album Tuff Times Never Last which will be out July 11 via Brownswood Recordings. Co-bandleader Onome Edgeworth says the album’s title original came from a meme. “It’s true! Although we’re reflecting on joy and celebration, you realize that a lot of that beauty comes out of challenges and difficulties. It felt like a natural truth that we discovered whilst writing.”

The first single from the album is “Sweetie,” an irresistible ray of sunshine, danceable and joyous. Listen below.

Kokoroko have announced North American tour dates as well, with a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on August 1. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, April 11 at 10 AM local time. Check out their full schedule below.
